HISTORY
Telling our story is like opening the door to your family’s home. As we walk in, we are transported back in time. The objects which today adorn our walls tell beautiful stories and hold memories of the past where everything began in the year 1938. The year when Antonio Padeiro first opened, initially as a tavern. An art which he joined to his career as a professional footballer. Later the tavern was transformed into a pub. A place with bird cages and canaries would accompany the meal of those who came to visit Alcobaça and to delight themselves with the delicacies which were served here. Over the years, the pub gave way to one of the most emblematic restaurants of Alcobaça. With three rooms: the basement, the oven room and the office, Antonio Padeiro Restaurant is situated in the heart of the city at number 27 of Dom Maur Cocheril Street. Today it is through the hands of Ana Branco, Antonio Pandeiro’s granddaughter and current owner of the restaurant, that the legacy continues.
